Issue

  • On Amazon EC2 client registered to RHN Classic or Satellite, rhnplugin get disabled automatically after updating system. Here are steps :

1) List channels to which system is subscribed on RHN Classic

# rhn-channel -l
    jbappplatform-6-x86_64-server-6-rpm
    rhel-x86_64-server-6

2) Check /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/rhnplugin.conf:

# cat /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/rhnplugin.conf
[main]
enabled = 1
gpgcheck = 1

3) Update EC2 instance

# yum update
Loaded plugins: amazon-id, rhnplugin, rhui-lb, security
This system is receiving updates from RHN Classic or RHN Satellite.
