Getting java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.encodeBase64String([B)Ljava/lang/String
Issue

When connecting to a web service from within a web app running in JBoss 5.2 we are receiving an apache codec error when trying to encode a nonce. In addition we receive warnings like:
UsingAddressing extensibility element not supported yet. -
The root error we receive is,
Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.commons.codec.binary.Base64.encodeBase64String([B)Ljava/lang/String;
at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.handler.HandlerChainExecutor.handleMessage(HandlerChainExecutor.java:305)
at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.handler.HandlerChainExecutor.handleMessage(HandlerChainExecutor.java:142)
at org.jboss.ws.core.jaxws.client.ClientImpl.callRequestHandlerChain(ClientImpl.java:145)
