  • What are the advantages of JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform over GateIn

Resolution

  • The main difference is that JBoss EPP is supported whereas GateIn, being a community product, is not. That means:
    • Customer can access Customer Portal and/or call center to ask for information, create bug reports and get hotfixes and request new features.
    • Constant patches are released to fix security issues and bugs. These fixes only get to community versions on the next major community release.
  • EPP also already comes bundled with version-compatible components such as JBoss Portlet Bridge, mod_cluster, OSS configurations, etc. making it easier to setup.
