Unable to boot and install RHEL5 on Cisco USC C240 M3 hardware
Issue
- I'm trying to install RHEL5.9 using standard CD on Cisco C240M3
- This machine has 512GB memory so I had supplied mem=16GB during boot
- However, the installation stopped at
- RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.
- ... few other lines ...
- kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(9,1)
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.9 or higher
- Cisco Systems C240 M3
- Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2690 v2 CPU
