Unable to retrieve large RPM files from Red Hat Proxy server using the yum client

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • We are using the Satellite to distribute software from different vendors
  • We package the software in an RPM and use the Satellite to have a uniform way of distributing software
  • These RPMs have sizes that range up to 1GB and recently we have found that these packages will not install on systems that are connected to a Red Hat Proxy
  • On systems that are connected to the Satellite directly we do not see problems
  • Here is an example of the error:

    # yum install some_large_package
