Is there a preference between lots of modules or one big module in JBoss?
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application 6.x
Issue
- We have a large number of JAR's that we want our application on JBoss to use. With the modules structure, is it recommended to create one large module or lots of small ones?
Resolution
Without knowing the full architecture of your application and what JAR's go together we can only provide you with general advice. In that regards, we basically advice you to separate modules where necessary. If the module currently doesn't make sense to split out then you shouldn't do it just for the sake of it.
There is no right or wrong way that works for everyone, however, if you are having any specific issues with your modules or setup then please feel free to raise a support case and we can work through any specific issues individually.
