Can I have the JBoss ON Connection to Oracle Database Using Cert-based Authentication?

Issue

  • Security requirements entail connecting to Oracle using certificate based authentication. There's no documentation on this for JBoss ON. Is there a way to configure JBoss ON to connect to Oracle using cert-based authentication after the installation script finishes?

Resolution

This configuration in JBoss ON is unsupported. That said JBoss ON 3.2 is deployed within EAP 6, so you could configure a new Security Domain for the Oracle Datasource in the jon-server-3.2.0.GA/jbossas/standalone/configuration/standalone-full.xml file. JBoss ON has 2 datasources, NoTxRHQDS and RHQDS both should be configured with the new Security Domain.
