Red Hat Directory Server crashes when a paged results search has been abandoned followed by a new search over the same connection

Issue

  • this morning the ns-slapd process on one of our Red Hat Directory Servers crashed with the following message in the kernel log and dmesg:
  • Jan 14 11:38:02 hostname1 kernel: ns-slapd[23242] general protection ip:7f615c0bfc88 sp:7f612b9f0f40 error:0 in libslapd.so.0.0.0[7f615c070000+f7000]

Environment

  • Red Hat Directory Server (RHDS) 9.1
  • 389-ds-base-1.2.11.15-30.el6_5.x86_64
