Issue

  • Whether the Red Hat network updates are safe for any applications hosted on the same Red Hat OS machine?

  • Oracle 11g database also is a widely used database on RHEL OS, hence any updates on RHEL should not interfere with the functionality of Oracle database.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux [ALL]
  • Both production and development environment use JBoss and Tomcat which connect to another RHEL instance on which Oracle database is hosted.
  • In current scenario RHEL instance is on Vmware, and have some application which has JBoss as the application server, Tomcat as the web server & Oracle 11g database for database.
