RHEL 7 cluster with nfsserver resource prints warning " sm-notify: Failed to delete: could not open original" when relocating, recovering, or failing over a service

Issue

  • If during a failover, the server needs to notify a client using sm-notify, sm-notify is going to display this warning.

  • Lock recovery is not happening properly on clients when my cluster nfs server service fails over

  • pacemaker
  • nfsserver resource
  • resource-agents releases prior to 3.9.5-12.el6 in RHEL 6
  • resource-agents releases prior to 3.9.5-40.el7 in RHEL 7, or prior to 3.9.5-26.el7_0.7 in RHEL 7 Update 0.
