JON 3.2 GUI storage node disk-related figures do not correspond to what is seen on the file system

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • In the JON GUI Administration>Storage Nodes>Nodes tab, the "Status" of the storage node shows disk-related figures which do not seem to correspond to what is seen on the file system.

    • "Disk space used by storage node" shows Min. 128.3MB /Avg 128.3 MB/Maximum 128.3 MB while a du command in /opt/jon/jon3.2/storage-node-data shows 82MB . why the discrepancy?
    • Free Disk To Data Size Ratio" shows Min. 2047.9%/Avg 3209.3%/Max. 3277.8%. Free disk on this file system (as per df) is 512MB. Size of storage-node-data/data (as per du) is 760KB. which would make a ratio of (512*1024)/760=690.
  • Storage node Disk space used by storage node and Free Disk To Data Size Ratio does not match what is on disk using the du or df Linux commands

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (JON) 3.2.0
    • Storage node
