No login prompt at KDM screen

Issue

We currently use ldap user accounts (SSSD) + NFS homedirs (LDAP + AUTOFS) for all users in our environment.I have just created a new workstation build using RHEL 6.2 + KDE/KDM, and I am now getting no login prompt at KDM screen (just getting the wallpaper).If I disable autofs and nfs, and restart X (KDM) login prompt appears.If I enable autofs and nfs, and drop to another (text) tty or runlevel 3, I am able to login as any user, and get homedirs etc.
