While accessing samba share, getting 'NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED' error.

Issue

  • Trying to access samba share gives following error:
Error connecting to x.x.x.x (Connection refused)
Connection to x.x.x.x failed (Error NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED)
  • samba share access via smbclient command fails with an error below:
[root@sambaserver ~]# smbclient //sambaserver.example.com/sharename -U username
Password for [SAMBA\username]:
do_connect: Connection to sambaserver failed (Error NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED)
