If a Kerberos-TGT from one user expires, other users can not access the NFS mountpoint anymore

Issue

If a Kerberos-TGT from one user expires, other users can not access the NFS mountpoint anymore. The following messages are logged continously:

rpc.gssd[5086]: WARNING: Failed to create krb5 context for user with uid 15414 for server server.example.com
kernel: Error: state manager encountered RPCSEC_GSS session expired against NFSv4 server server.example.com.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1
  • NFSv4 export mounted with Kerberos authentication (mount option krb5i)
