Is JAX-WS Reference Implementation (Metro) Available in OpenJDK?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • OpenJDK 5+

Issue

I need to know if OpenJDK contains the JAX-WS reference implementation (i.e. Metro).

Resolution

Yes, OpenJDK does include the Metro web service stack by default. This will be used if no other web service stacks are found by javax.xml.ws.spi.FactoryFinder. When using a stock version of JBoss, JBossWS will always be found in favor of Metro.
