Why rsync fails with "rsync: set_acl: Operation not supported (95)" error in Red Hat Enterprise Linux?

rsync -A /<source directory> /<destination directory>fails with below error
rsync: set_acl: sys_acl_set_file(path/to/the directory/file, ACL_TYPE_ACCESS): Operation not supported (95)
