Unable to properly blacklist drivers in Anaconda

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • I want to totally blacklist some modules during kickstart. We are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 for kickstart.

  • I see from BZ #689029 that a rdblacklist= should exist in RHEL6.2 and beyond (Support for dracut-style "rdloaddriver=" and "rdblacklist=" parameters is added.).

  • However, blacklisting the module with this way does not block it from loading. For example, in this case I have a server with a CD in the drive, which I believe is enumerating to sda. I want to block this, so sda is the RAID virtual disk.

  • The installation guide mentions rdblacklist, but does not say whether it is comma seperated or specified multiple times.

  • What is the correct way to blacklist a set of modules?
