Issue

  • System tunables in /etc/sysctl.d/ are not being applied after a reboot.

  • After setting any of the following system tunables via a file in /etc/sysctl.d/ directory and rebooting the still have the following values:

    kernel.sysrq=16
    kernel.core_uses_pid=1
    net.ipv4.conf.default.rp_filter=1
    net.ipv4.conf.default.accept_source_route=0
    fs.protected_hardlinks=1
    fs.protected_symlinks=1
    fs.aio-max-nr = 1048576
