What is the use of Multi-JSF feature in EAP 6 ?

In the release notes of the 6.1 version [1] there is a new feature called Multi-JSF described as "This feature enables a user to replace the JSF implementation provided with EAP with a user supplied JSF implementation". Can you describe this feature in detail?

How to upgrade current JSF 2.1.19 of EAP 6.2.0 to JSF 2.1.29. How to proceed, is there any fixpack for this upgrade or can change it direcly on module.xml and change jsf-impl-2.1.29.jar and jsf-api-2.1.29.jar directly?

There is an extension module named
<extension module="org.jboss.as.jsf"/>
and a subsystem<subsystem xmlns="urn:jboss:domain:jsf:1.0"/>
in standalone and domain xml files. Application is being migrated from jsp to a jsf implementation using primefaces as a component library. Should the jsf sub-system be configured to include anything? -
Is it possible in 6.3.0 to use a JSF implementation that is not provided as part of the jboss server distribution?
