RHEV-H 6 has no network on Cisco UCS blades (enic module parameter problem)

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

The RHEV hypervisor can not be installed onto Cisco UCS B200M2 blade with enic driver using rhevh-6.2-20120209.0.iso.

The reason is that /etc/modprobe.d/vdsm.conf in the intrd image defines parameters for enic module that the module does not support, resulting in a failure to load the kernel module. It's currently defined as below.

options enic lro_disable=1

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.0
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor (RHEV-H) 6.2 20120209.0.el6_2
