Why /etc/mtab file permissions changed to 600 unexpectedly on a GFS2 filesystem on RHEL 5 or RHEL 6?
Issue
- Every time we collect data using a
sosreport,/etc/mtabpermissions get changed and users are no longer allowed todf. - The file
/etc/mtabpermissions change from644to600unexpectedly. - Unable to stat mounted or filesystem size when using
GFS2.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server(RHEL) 5 (with the High Availability and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
