DV Teiid Designer is not automatically creating the import declarations for new view tables
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualization (DV) 6.0
Issue
- The designer is not automatically creating the import declarations when we query against a new source. There also doesn’t appear to be a way to manually add those import declarations (or if there is, I haven’t been able to figure it out). “Update Imports” doesn’t force them to come in either. This has always been automatic and this will prevent us from creating any new layers, or updating existing layers to call other layers that weren’t previously imported.
Resolution
This is due to your different layers residing in other projects as of version 8.0 of the Teiid Designer, you cannot use a table from another Teiid Project in your transformations. So you would need to have one project with folders instead or one of the developers suggested VDB reuse1
