Powerpath is not loading at the time of booting after kernel update

Issue

  • EMC Powerpath devices are not loading at the time of booting after updating system from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8, even though powerpath version was updated to recommended newer version.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8
  • EMC PowerPath SAN storage with PowerPath version 5.5 and higher
