gnome-terminals crashing/disappearing in RHEL6.5

Issue

Number of gnome-terminal processes open on RHEL6.5 screen for a number of tasks.
With increasing frequency, all of these gnome-terminals disappear/crash at the same time.
Not able to identify if it is triggered by any customization done to the system.
