CPU cores disable not working properly
Issue
- CPU cores disable not working properly
- Due to third-party software licensing, I need to disable half the cores (eg: 2 x 4-cores will be active)
- Cores are disabled from BIOS, and the POST screen clearly shows 2 x 4 cores are active, but the OS sees only 2 x 2 cores
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.10
- HP BL465c G8 with 2x AMD Opteron 6328 Processor
