Issue

RHEL server cannot mount NFS share through firewall after reboot. The firewall allows NFS through the following ports:

  • TCP and UDP 111 for sunrpc
  • TCP 2049 (nfsd-tcp)
  • UDP 2049 (nfsd)
  • RPC 100005 (mountd)
  • RPC 100003 (nfsprog)
  • RPC 100021 (nlockmgr)
  • RPC 150001 (pcnfsd)

After the reboot the RHEL server started using port 1234 when trying to mount the NFS share and fails.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4
  • EMC Celerra
