Why does snmpd log "error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert (-1)" messages to the terminal?
Issue
The following message appears several times on the system's console every 20-30 seconds:
error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert (-1)
If snmpd is restarted from a different terminal such as a SSH session, the above messages appear in that terminal with the same frequency.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
- net-snmp version 5.5-37.el6_2.1 or earlier.
- One or more 'proxy' lines in /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf .
