Resolution

Root Cause

  • Prior to this update, certain interfaces associated configuration files in the/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory, but there was no corresponding device in the kernel. As a result, netcf returned an error status every time it was asked for the current status of an interface it was unable to find in the kernel, so management applications collected a large number of error log messages. With this update, failures to find an interface in the kernel are now ignored.
