On June 2 2014, Red Hat announced the availability of a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux variant: Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA. This new product is the result of tight collaboration between Red Hat and SAP engineering and support teams. It offers SAP HANA customers the ability now to run the powerful in-memory HANA database on the market-leading enterprise Linux platform. The announcement is supported by some of Red Hat's strategic OEM partners: IBM, Cisco, Dell, Intel, Fujitsu, and NEC who will be bringing appliances to market built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA.

"RHEL for SAP HANA" requires a specific RHEL subscription (Standard for non-production, Premium for production) which includes base RHEL plus the additional RHEL for SAP HANA channel. "RHEL for SAP HANA" subscription provides access to the following channel
A. RHEL for SAP HANA
B. Scalable filesystem Add-on.
