Burning a DVD is very slow using Brasero.

Issue

  • Burning a DVD is very slow (30-45 minutes)

  • Swapped the DVD burner and the SATA cable, no change in speed. Media burns at 16x in a Windows 7 machine with same burner.

  • Using libburn as a backend with brasero is slowing down dvd writes.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
  • Brasero dvd burning software
  • HP CDDVDW SH-216AL
