Issue

  • lvconvert from core log to on-disk log fails with "Unable to allocate extents for mirror log", when there are free extents in the volume group

    # lvconvert --mirrorlog disk --alloc anywhere /dev/vgTest/lvol01
      Insufficient extents for log allocation for logical volume .
      Unable to allocate extents for mirror log.
    

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5
  • lvm2 prior to release 2.02.74-1.el5
