How to specify unauthenticated-principal in jboss-ejb3.xml ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x

Issue

  • When a TimerService or MessageDrivenBean calls an ejb method, there is no identity in ejb context,hence when calling context.getCaller() , JBoss usually returns an unauthenticated identity. In previous versions of JBoss EAP the name of this unauthenticaded identity was configurable in the security config as follows:-
<jboss>
<unauthenticated-principal>myName</unauthenticated-principal>
[…]
</jboss>
  • Is there a way to specify unauthenticated-principal in jboss-ejb3.xml ?

Resolution

  • Currently, this feature is not available in EAP 6, it may be available in the future versions.
  • An RFE PRODMGT-618 is opened for the same.
