corosync triggers excessive ARP requests for missing nodes in RHEL 6 when using UDPU
Issue
- Recently we have found in our system that there are excessive ARP requests/replies for the nodes (members) listed in
corosync.conffile. We use udpu as transport. - My cluster is sending very frequent arp requests to nodes which are listed in the configuration (either
cluster.conforcorosync.conf) but are not currently active. - The cluster sends packets to members of the cluster that are missing
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with the High Availability Add On
corosync- UDPU configured as the
corosynctransport<cman transport="udpu"/>in/etc/cluster/cluster.confif usingcman- "transport: updu" in
/etc/corosync/corosync.conf" if not usingcman`
