How to disable clustering In EAP 6/7 ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform
    • 6.x
    • 7.x

Issue

  • How do we disable JGroups within EAP ?

Resolution

  • For an existing HA configuration, the simplest method is to leave clustering enabled, but isolate the node so that it creates a cluster of one node. See Isolating JBoss EAP 6/7 clusters running on the same network

  • To completely remove clustering use a non-HA based profile (i.e. default or full if EAP is running in domain mode or use standalone.xml/ standalone-full.xml if EAP is running in standalone mode).

  • Manually converting an existing HA configuration to a non-HA configuration would require comparing the corresponding default HA and non-HA configurations then manually merging those changes into the current configuration. It's typically simpler to start with a non-HA configuration and merge any customizations in, but either method should result in the same end configuration.
