Change in disks selection behaviour of RHEV-H 6.5 installer.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • There is a change in disk configuration menu of RHEV-H 6.5 installation script, In earlier version, The disk which was selected in 'boot disk' screen is also by default gets selected at 'installation disk' screen as 'install disk' and gives user option to select addition or different disk for hypervisor installation if required.

  • But in the new version (RHEV-H 6.5) at the installation disk selection menu, First disk visible to hypervisor gets selected as 'Install Disk' automatically rather than the disk which was selected as boot disk in previous screen (Boot Disk Menu)

  • It has been seen that the users who got familiar with older RHEV-H installation interface simply ignore this change and proceed with the installation of hypervisor without checking which disk is actually selected as 'Install Disk'. Selected disk could be a device (LUN) which is a member of a storage domain. Proceeding with partitioning of such disks could cause unrecoverable problems.
