NFS server becomes unresponsive when bond 6 mode is used on RHEL 6.5
Issue
- After a scheduled reboot on one of my servers,
NIC bondingis causing network connectivity to behave erratically. As most users/homedirectories live on a remote NFS server, this translates to general slowness at the shell, either when running any command, or by attempting tab-autocompletion. All users also include an NFS-mounted/softwaretree in theirPATH. I created a test user with a local home, and no NFS shares references in thePATH, and the system is responsive until one tries to access the NFS shares.
Environment
- Red hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
- kernel 2.6.32-431.3.1.el6.x86_64
- NFS
- Bonding
