Why do I see the error "Volume Group block size error, please check your Volume Group configuration, Supported block size is 512 bytes" when adding a new storage domain or using a RHEV-H / RHEL 6.2 based host with a 2.2 storage domain?
Issue
- While trying to create a block (Fiber Channel or iSCSI) storage domain in RHEV-M 3.0, we see the following error message reported.
Volume Group block size error, please check your Volume Group configuration, Supported block size is 512 bytes.
- When trying to use a previously created 2.2 storage domain with a RHEV-H/RHEL 6.2 host I am unable to start any guests and the host constantly becomes non-operational.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager 3.0
- Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor 6.2
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.2
- vdsm-4.9-112.el6.x86_64 (and all previous el6 versions)
