• Is there a way to track disk space utilization on a weekly/monthly basis with a seperate package in our repository?

• Need to see which directories are taking up space to be used for user directories on ftp server.

• Require something easier than df, to manage and track file storage changes.

Resolution

To keep track of the free/used space's historical data you may try using rrdtool-1.3.8-6.el6.x86_64 available in our channel rhel-x86_64-server-6.

Other way is to schedule a cronjob executing the df command and pasting the output in a file.

example: 00 10 * * * /bin/df > /usage.txt
