Switching workspaces causes gnome session to hang

Issue

• Any time we switch workspaces, gnome hangs. If we don't attempt to switch workspaces, gnome will work perfectly fine.
• Multiple users are simultaneously working via remote gnome sessions
• Users have nfs shared home directory
• Sometimes multiple sessions are opened with same user account as well.
• Problem is specific to nfs mounted home and not observed for users having local home directory
