Community plugins fail to install in Red Hat Developer Hub 1.9+ due to network restrictions in disconnected environments.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After upgrading to Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH) 1.9 or later, pods fail to start or initialize, and are unable to install certain community-supported dynamic plugins.
  • The install-dynamic-plugins init container logs show network timeout or connection errors when attempting to download plugin artifacts:
Error: Failed to fetch package metadata from ghcr.io dial tcp: i/o timeout
  • In restricted, disconnected, or air-gapped environments, network firewalls or proxies must allow traffic to the specific external registries hosting these dynamic plugins.

Environment

  • Red Hat Developer Hub
