Configure bcrypt password hashing on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10

Issue

• When configuring bcrypt password hashing with ENCRYPT_METHOD BCRYPT in /etc/login.defs, the following error may be reported in the /var/log/secure file:

unrecognized ENCRYPT_METHOD value [BCRYPT]

When using commands such as chpasswd or useradd -p while ENCRYPT_METHOD is set to this unsupported value, the following error may be reported:

Invalid ENCRYPT_METHOD value: 'BCRYPT'.
Defaulting to DES.
