Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

After rebooting, the node boots back into its old RHCOS OS version, and the worker MachineConfigPool (MCP) becomes Degraded with an unexpected on-disk state validation mismatch.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (RHOCP)
    • 4
  • OpenShift worker nodes configured to boot diskless over network-attached SAN via iSCSI iBFT (iSCSI Boot Firmware Table) and Multipath I/O (MPIO)
