Apache cluster resource unable to start on one of the cluster node due to hidden character in 'PidFile' parameter

Issue

  • The Apache cluster resource was unable to start on one of the cluster node, however it was started on the peer cluster node
  • Post making changes to the httpd.conf file on the cluster nodes, the Apache cluster resource was unable to start on one of the cluster node
  • The log messages report informational message like below. There can be an alternate issue as stated in the link
INFO: apache not running
INFO: waiting for apache /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf to come up

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, 9 and 10 (with the High Availability and/or Resilient Storage Add On)
  • pacemaker cluster
