Crash occurs when using Chromium-based browsers with smartcards

Issue

  • When using smartcards with Chromium-based browsers, the browser crashes roughly 10 seconds after we enter the smartcard's PIN, or when using cached smartcard credentials.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
  • opensc package version 0.23.0-6 or earlier (RHEL 9)
  • opensc package version 0.20.0-8 or earlier (RHEL 8)
