Custom named service failed to start after updating bind package in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
Issue
-
After performing an OS update, the named2 service (named-2nd-chroot.service) fails to start. Restoring previous configuration files did not resolve the issue. The service status shows a symbol lookup error, indicating a mismatch between the
/usr/sbin/named2binary and its linked libraries.named2[14535]: /usr/sbin/named2: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/named2: undefined symbol: dns_message_destroy
