After update to "ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.*", SSL verification failure occurs for some sites

Issue

  • After updating ca-certificates to ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.304-80.2.el8_10, SSL verification failure occur
  • Rollbacking to ca-certificates-2024.2.69_v8.0.303-80.0.el8_10 fixes the issue

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7

    • Not affected at the moment (but will if ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.* gets delivered)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8

    • ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.304-80.2.el8_10

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9

    • ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.305-91.el9

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10

    • ca-certificates-2025.2.80_v9.0.305-102.el10_1
