vSphere Problem Detector Operator reports missing permissions at the cluster level when creating VMs in a Resource Pool

Issue

  • Receiving health check warnings for CheckComputeClusterPermissions.
  • Events in cluster showing warning FailedVSphereCheckComputeClusterPermissions.
  • After following the solution vSphere Problem Detector Operator fails with permissions checks in OpenShift 4 , the following warning keeps appearing from vsphere problem detector pod:

    CheckComputeClusterPermissions:<Node> failed: missing privileges for compute cluster <vSphere_Cluster>: Resource.AssignVMToPool, VApp.AssignResourcePool, VApp.Import, VirtualMachine.Config.AddNewDisk
