How to Access a Pacemaker managed shared disk on a Standalone RHEL9 Host?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Two VMware nodes with Pacemaker cluster.
  • Each node has one RDM disk.
  • One or more cluster LVM resources with ext4 file system.
  • The active node at a time houses the ext4 file system.
  • The cluster is stopped.
  • LVM resources are inactive.
  • Question: Is it possible and safe to temporarily mount and access the ext4 file system from a third, unrelated RHEL virtual machine?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6
