Is it supported to transfer content via Inter-Satellite sync process in a multi-tiered topology of Red Hat Satellite 6?

Issue

• Cannot find any information on the supportability aspect of the following scenario, even if technically it works fine, i.e.

  • One Red Hat Satellite server is present in the connected network and syncing content from the Red Hat Content Delivery Network.
  • A downstream satellite server syncs the content from the primary satellite using the Network Sync process.
  • Another satellite server repeats the same Network Sync process using the first downstream server as its source.
  • and this continues for a few more layers.

• Current diagrams from the product documentation only illustrate single-level operation, i.e, content syncing between one upstream and one downstream satellite server.

• Security and compliance teams have blocked implementation due to a lack of explicit support in official documentation.
