Issue

  • iconv transliterations are different between RHEL major releases
  • We have some data we pass to iconv. We get different output between RHEL X and RHEL Y.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • iconv program from glibc
  • Transliteration command TRANSLIT such as:
    • iconv -f UTF-8 -t ASCII//TRANSLIT
    • iconv -f utf-8 -t iso-8859-1//TRANSLIT
